What we collect, why, and the rights you have.
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and the rights you have. We handle your data in line with the UK GDPR and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
This website is run by SIA J Konsult (“JKonsult”, “we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the personal data collected here.

We only collect what you choose to send us. When you submit the free demand audit form, we collect your name, phone number and email address, the trade you are in, the postcodes you cover, and anything you write in the message box.
Our servers also keep standard logs for security and troubleshooting. These can include your IP address, the date and time of your visit, the pages you came from and moved through, your browser language, and browser error reports. If you accept cookies, we also process the data described under cookies below.
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, prepare the free audit you asked for, and deliver any work that follows. We rely on four lawful bases, depending on what we are doing:
We do not use your details for automated decision-making or profiling.
You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing info@jkonsult.lv or calling us. We action it within three working days. Withdrawing consent does not make anything we did before it unlawful.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We use suppliers who process data on our behalf and only on our instructions, under a written contract that requires them to protect it and to delete it once the work ends. Depending on the job, these can include cloud hosting and server providers, email and form services, database administration, direct marketing tools, and analytics or market research providers. We share only what each one needs to do its job.
We may also disclose data to competent authorities or law enforcement where a lawful request requires it.
If you accept cookies on the banner, we use Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, the Meta Pixel and Google Tag Manager to measure how the site is used and which ads bring enquiries. These may set cookies and process data such as your device type and how you move through the site, some of it handled by Google and Meta as their own controllers. Nothing in this category loads until you accept, and you can change your choice at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer. Full detail is in our cookie policy.
JKonsult is based in Latvia, within the EU, and your data sits on servers in secure infrastructure in the EU. We do not transfer personal data outside the EU or EEA unless the destination gives it the same level of protection as EU law requires, or we put appropriate safeguards in place such as Standard Contractual Clauses. Google and Meta may process cookie data outside the EU under their own safeguards, and only if you accept cookies.
We keep your enquiry for 12 months from the day you send it, unless we are working with you, in which case we keep it for as long as the work runs, or unless Latvian or EU law sets a longer period. After that we delete it. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will.
We review and improve our security to keep your data safe from unauthorised access, accidental loss, disclosure or destruction. That includes firewalls, intrusion detection, encryption and secured connections, alongside internal rules on who can see what. We check that every supplier handling data for us applies proper safeguards, and they cannot use it for their own purposes.
If a breach puts your data at risk, we will tell you and report it to the relevant authority without undue delay and within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, unless it is unlikely to pose a risk to your rights and freedoms. We cannot take responsibility for data lost or exposed by something outside our control, such as you sharing your own details with a third party.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you are in the UK, or the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (dvi.gov.lv), which supervises us.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
